The Concept of Active Faith

HopeLife was formed in order to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we believe that being HIS hands and feet on earth is a part of that calling. Jesus Christ fed the hungry, healed the sick and lifted up the poor. HE was and is the exact image of the Living God, our Heavenly Father.

Therefore, as Disciples of Christ who are being transformed in to HIS image (See: Romans 8:29 29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained `to be' conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: ) we at HopeLife (and you as well) are called to not only bring forth the good news of the Kingdom of God, but also to help those who are imprisoned by illness, poverty, violence and unimaginable suffering.

Faith without works is dead – therefore it is not enough to praise the Lord with our lips, but in love and devotion to HIM, we should set our hearts to go forth with our bodies, wealth and talents to bring the light of the Lord to those trapped in darkness.

At HopeLife we believe that as children of the living God, we are called to be "followers of Christ, not just believers"! Belief is the only thing required for salvation (See: John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.   John 6:29 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. ) and there are no more "human" rules needed to be obeyed in order to be saved, except to believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, but it is in our suffering and sacrifices (See: Luke 14:27 27 Whosoever doth not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.   Romans 5:2-4 2 through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness; 4 and stedfastness, approvedness; and approvedness, hope:   Romans 8:17 17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with `him', that we may be also glorified with `him'.   2 Corinthians 1:5 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound unto us, even so our comfort also aboundeth through Christ. ) that we come to know the love of the Lord and are able to truly bask in HIS glory.

If you feel the Holy Spirit prompting you to be a "Cheerful and Graceful" giver (See:  2 Corinthians 9:7 7 `Let' each man `do' according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. ) in the name of Jesus Christ, whether by wealth, body, talent or all three, then we at HopeLife are here to assist in fulfilling your desire to serve humanity in HIS name!

The name that is first, above all names, and is forever praised! Amen!
