Standing on the Promises of God
A video published by Christian Sermons and Audio Books on July 16th, 2025
A look at some of the greatest promises of forgiveness, salvation, and God's love in all of Scripture.
Christ's All-Sufficient Sacrifice on the Cross
Hebrews 10:10-14
"By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
And every priest stands ministering daily... But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God... For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified."
Key truth: Christ’s sacrifice is once for all, perfecting and sanctifying believers completely.
John 19:30
"So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit."
Key truth: Jesus declared the work of redemption complete on the cross — nothing more is needed.
Colossians 2:13-14
"...having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us... And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
Key truth: Christ's death canceled our debt of sin entirely.
Romans 5:8-9
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."
Key truth: The cross is the sole ground for our justification and salvation from wrath.
1 Peter 2:24
"...who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."
Key truth: Jesus bore our sins personally, securing both forgiveness and transformation.
Isaiah 53:5-6
"But He was wounded for our transgressions... and by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray... And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
Key truth: The cross was God’s deliberate act of placing our sin on Christ, who bore it fully.
Romans 8:1-3
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus... For what the law could not do... God did by sending His own Son... He condemned sin in the flesh."
Key truth: Through Christ’s cross, sin is condemned, and believers are freed from condemnation.
Ephesians 1:7
"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."
Key truth: Redemption and forgiveness are fully provided through Christ’s shed blood.
Galatians 2:20-21
"...I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."
Key truth: If anything else could save, Christ's death would be meaningless — but it isn’t.
